New Mothers: How To Naturally Increase Breast Milk Production

As western diets become increasingly more detrimental, it is unfortunately becoming more and more common for mothers to experience a shortening supply of breast milk. This is causing many women to rely on formula brands which include many harmful additives that can negatively affect the immune system of their babies. In the last few decades, chronic illness including autoimmune diseases, skin issues, ADHD, as well as mood disorders have become much more prominent in children under the age of 12. Children are also developing noticeably (and scarily) much quicker than they once did. Many mainstream formula brands (such as Enfamil NeuroPro) include harmful ingredients such as whey protein, animal secretions, soy, oils, as well as various chemical compounds and acids. These harmful additives and preservatives contribute to an accumulation of acid in the body and can eventually lead to "dis-ease" and a plethora of various diagnosis.

Some of the leading causes of decrease in breast milk supply include poor acidic diets, smoking, coffee, stress, and medications.

In the vast majority of today’s western societies we are conditioned to rely on medications and harmful brands as opposed to learning about how to use natural medicinal plants to support our body’s innate abilities. This is in part due to the fact that Big Pharma cannot make any profit from healthy individuals and therefore relies on the sickness of mankind to generate massive amounts of income. This is why many natural healing modalities, as the one I am about to discuss, are heavily suppressed or swept under the rug.

I get emails on a weekly basis from new mothers who are desperate to find a way to naturally increase their breast milk production. The good news is that there is a way! I am often in awe at the perfection of nature, and how there's always a plant that exists which can help facilitate in the body's natural healing process.

In this specific case, that herb is called Fenugreek. Fenugreek belongs to the Fabaceae plant family. It is a clover-like herb which leaves consist of three small obovate to oblong leaflets. It is native to the Mediterranean region, southern Europe, and western Asia. Amongst its benefits for women who struggle with menstrual discomfort, menopause (which is just chronic lymphatic stagnation), hair & skin related issues and diabetes, is its ability to increase a lessening supply of breast milk production.

In order for Fenugreek to be effective for new mothers, it may have to be consumed in large doses- about 4 or 5 capsules anywhere from 5 to 6 times per day, sometimes even more, until your supply regulates. But please note that this is a plant- it is NOT a chemical medication. It is NOT harmful, and archaeologists have traced the use of this plant back to as early as 4000 BC. There are plants which should be consumed with caution, but Fenugreek is known to be extremely safe.

I must also add that it would be irresponsible for me to suggest taking an herb without also recommending you do this in conjunction with a diet full of high vibrational living foods. I recommend increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables you consume, especially berries which are great for your glands and are particularly high in antioxidants.

I also want to note that the pituitary gland makes prolactin which is the hormone necessary for breast milk production. So if you’re having trouble and Fenugreek isn't increasing your supply, you may want to work with a detoxification specialist and check for a potential pituitary gland weakness.

One way to address gland weaknesses is by using a bovine glandular. Glandular therapy refers to the short term (no more than 2 months) use of animal tissues to try to enhance the function of, or mimic the effect of, the corresponding human tissue. Put more simply, it’s the temporary use of an animal gland (in capsule form) to help assist your body. For example: If someone has an adrenal gland weakness, temporarily using an adrenal glandular can help "boost" or "awaken" that gland and improve its function. It is important to work with a trained detoxification specialist or holistic health practitioner to ensure you're consuming glandulars at the right dosage and for a safe amount of time. Also, glandulars are obviously not vegan, so that’s something to also keep in mind.

Remember that regardless of what health challenge you’re dealing with, your body is the healer. Health is about moving out of your body’s way and allowing it to finally do what its designed to. It's about removing the things you're consuming that are obstructing the body's natural flow of energy. The human body speaks through symptoms. Symptoms are always signs that something needs to change. Health is not about taking a pill to block a symptom. It's about getting to the root cause. Plants are great at helping us achieve this more quickly.

Congratulations on your baby! I hope Fenugreek turns out to be the blessing you’ve been looking for.

Love,

E.
